The Dream Team
The heart of this endeavor from day one was to impact students both here in the US as well as in Nicaragua. This is a global leadership partnership that will have life changing effects on both sides of our country’s borders. This will be an opportunity for you to challenge your students to live for something bigger than themselves. This is a great opportunity to cultivate service leadership and love for others within your students, school, and community. There is also the opportunity for service trips to Tomas Borge, Nicaragua. The relationships formed through your school’s partnership with KBCMI and the community of Tomas Borge is guaranteed to be life changing.
The school will expand one grade per year until we have all secondary grade levels (7-11) required by the Ministry of Education of Nicaragua. The operating budget for KBCMI is about $48,000 a year. Our dream is to find 11 additional schools to join Heritage that would be willing to fund the operations of the school for 1 month at $4,000. This dream can be reached through child partnerships. Child partnerships are critical to the daily running of the school. Each child partnership is $564/year or $47/month and comes with additional benefits that we will help facilitate. We can achieve this goal if each school within the KBC Dream Team raises $4,000 for the year - that’s only 7 child partnerships per school! This is encouraged to be a long term commitment for your school but is not mandatory. We also encourage, but do not require, your school to take a team of students to the community to serve for one week (or more) a year.
As part of the KBC Dream Team, our teachers and students will walk alongside you on this journey as much or as little as you would like. We would love to assist you with leadership training, short term service trip training, fund raising, and any other needs you may have. You can work completely independent of HHS or partner directly with us.

Impact2one is excited to be helping in many important areas...
Education - In 2018 KBCMI opened its doors for 4 afternoon programs. Katies Kids which is leadership and ESL, Stanleys Kids which is education for special needs kids, Sewing classes, and ESL classes for adults. In 2019 KBCMI will begin official classes for 7th and 8th grade. Every year following we will add 1 grade until we reach 7th through 11th grade. In order to do this we will need to add on A LOT to the school. We will need to add about 2 classrooms per year until 2021. Our dream is that children who graduate from KBCMI will be bilingual and University ready. After 2021 we have a dream to begin a primary school that will prepare the community children for KBCMI.
Clinic - We have a long term volunteer arriving in November of 2018 to open a clinic to serve the community. There are many needs such as a separate building, medical equipment, medications, and more. Consider dreaming with our long term volunteer to bring medical help to the community!
Agriculture - Nicaragua has a great climate for farming. We have dreams of sustainable agriculture such as hydroponics and small livestock. We discovered a great opportunity for individual community gardens with accountability based support. Now we only need someone with the knowledge to develop the program. We also want to train the students in all these things as they are implemented as a part of the school curriculum. Could you be the person who helps us develop a program in this area?
Small Business Training - In 2018 we have began sewing classes for ladies in the community. There are many additional opportunities. There are crafts that could be developed for sale both in Nicaragua and the US. There are also other opportunities that are waiting to be discovered by someone with the desire and knowledge. This person could be you!
Vocational Training - Dreams like electrical engineering, mechanic training, construction, and carpentry could all become a reality. There is plenty of room on the property and a need for a vocational building. There is a strong need for these trades in the country and education in these areas could be a game changer for young men who are not university bound. Please consider dreaming with us in this area!
Construction - With all the programs needed and the future expansion to the school needed we are in desperate need of help with construction. We need buildings such as a clinic, team house, additional classrooms, vocational building, chicken house, and long term volunteer housing. You could bring a construction team or raise the funds for local contractors to build these buildings. Get your hammer and nails and come on down!
